Significant steps should be taken to increase women's digital skills, Silapberdi Nurberdiyev, Deputy Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), said during the ECO Women's Forum held for the first time in Lachin, EDnews reports.
According to him, ECO is taking important steps towards gender equality: "The organization is persistent in supporting women. Because women play an important role in making important decisions. Therefore, they should be active in the economy."
He added that the forum will once again highlight the role women play in building a strong economic society:
"We need to create opportunities for women in solving climate problems and give them opportunities in the green economy. We also need to develop the field of science and technology."
The ECO official emphasized that women should be supported not only in traditional but also in modern fields:
"For example, steps should be taken in the field of technology as well. Our plans for this are ready. We should also strengthen the position of women in culture and sports. We need to ensure proper financing and move to real action. Digital skills should be more widely spread among women."
