Azerbaijan constantly comes up with important initiatives in the field of ensuring women's economic independence and is ready to share its experience in this matter, Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Affairs Bahar Muradova said at the Women's Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which is being held in Lachin for the first time, EDnews reports.
According to her, the expansion of women's economic opportunities and ensuring their social well-being are indicators of the overall level of development of society: “We believe that without women's economic independence it is impossible to talk about their social and political empowerment. Therefore, Azerbaijan constantly comes up with important initiatives in this area and is ready to share its experience.”
Muradova noted that Azerbaijan widely uses preferential financial instruments for the development of women's entrepreneurship, implements programs for advanced training, and cooperative models that help strengthen cooperation among women in rural areas: “At the same time, our country has achieved significant results in ensuring women's access to education and increasing their activity in science, technology and innovation. Our young women scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers and engineers are becoming the driving force of society. Social and economic projects implemented with the direct participation of women in the territories liberated from occupation, including Lachin, are a practical result of this policy.”
