As of May 31, 2025, the current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan is estimated at 991 million euros, EDnews reports, referring to the EBRD.
Some 38% of the portfolio is in the private sector.
At the same time, 34 projects are currently active. Compared to the figure as of April 30, 2025, the portfolio volume decreased by 1.3%, or 13 million euros.
According to the EBRD, the bulk of the current portfolio - 89% (886 million euros) - is aimed at developing sustainable infrastructure, 6% (55 million euros) is in the corporate sector, and another 5% (50 million euros) is in financial institutions. In total, the EBRD has invested more than 3.783 billion euros in Azerbaijan for the implementation of 198 projects.
The bank's cumulative disbursements amounted to 3.132 billion euros. In 2024, the EBRD provided loans to finance eight projects in Azerbaijan for a total of 199 million euros, an increase of 27.56% (43 million euros) compared to the previous year.
