Representatives of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and members of the Public Council under ANAMA held a meeting with students studying at Karabakh University, located in Khankendi.
The main goal of the meeting was to inform students about the mine threat, educate them in this direction, involve them more actively in public activities, as well as increase their participation in voluntary initiatives and strengthen their sense of social responsibility.
The event was attended by First Vice-Rector of Karabakh University Fariz Ahmadov, university employees Elnur Babayev and Lamiya Mammadova, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANAMA Fikrat Valiyev, and Head of the Department of Education and Work with Victims Ramil Azizov.
Chairman of the Public Council under ANAMA Umud Mirzayev, Deputy Chairman Emil Hasanov, and Council members Musa Marjanli, Hafiz Azimzade, Khatira Valiyeva, Konul Guliyeva and Rashad Mehdiyev also attended the event.
The event was held in accordance with the action plan of the Public Council under ANAMA.
Within the framework of the meeting, ANAMA representatives provided extensive information about the risks posed by mine danger, the current situation in the liberated areas, and safety rules.
It was noted that mine danger still remains a serious problem for the region and that conducting awareness-raising activities in this area is of great importance.
Samples of mines and other explosive ordnance were demonstrated, and detailed information was provided to the teaching staff and students.
In their speeches, members of the Public Council emphasized the role of young people in this process and noted the importance of their active participation in ensuring the safety of society.
Students were informed about the correct rules of conduct regarding mine danger and the need to share the information they have obtained with their relatives and peers.
Within the framework of the meeting, 50 students were selected from among the volunteers of Karabakh University to cooperate in the field of awareness-raising regarding mine danger.
It is planned to continue cooperation with university students in this direction in the future.
The meeting continued in an interactive format, with questions of interest to students answered and views exchanged on the topic.
