The Azerbaijani Deaflympic Committee has become a member of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf, the governing body responsible for the global sports movement involving individuals with hearing impairments.
According to EDnews the Deaflympic Committee stated that membership will open new opportunities for Azerbaijani athletes with hearing impairments, ensuring their full participation in international tournaments.
In addition, this decision marks an important step in the development of the Deaflympic movement in Azerbaijan, strengthening social engagement and promoting sports integration for people with hearing disabilities.
The committee also noted that membership will contribute to the training of professional coaches and the expansion of international cooperation in this field.
