Azerbaijan and Japan have discussed prospects for cooperation in transport infrastructure, supply chains, and digital connectivity, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement following talks between Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi.
Accoding to EDnews, the ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in energy security and transport connectivity, noting Azerbaijan's role as a reliable partner in regional transport and logistics routes linking Asia and Europe.
The Foreign Ministry also said the sides discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
"The Azerbaijani side informed Japanese officials about the post-conflict situation in the region, reconstruction work in the liberated territories, the process of normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and regional initiatives in transport and economic integration," the ministry said.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen the strategic partnership and expand cooperation across all areas.
