Azerbaijan intends to introduce a visa-free regime for all citizens of Japan, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramovs said following talks in Tokyo with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi.
According to EDnews, the minister described the move as an important step toward simplifying travel, increasing business exchanges, promoting tourism, and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The Japanese side welcomed Azerbaijan"s decision to unilaterally introduce a visa-free regime for Japanese citizens for a period of one year.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating mutual travel and further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to the Ministry, the meeting also highlighted shared intentions to deepen the partnership and explore new areas of cooperation in the coming years.
The sides also noted that the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, to be marked in 2027, will serve as an opportunity to celebrate achievements in bilateral cooperation and outline new ambitious directions for future engagement.
