Two international financial organizations of which Azerbaijan is a member are planning to issue bonds in manat, Fuad Jafarov, Director of the Strategy and Project Management Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said in an interview. EDnews reports.
According to Jafarov, a draft amendment to the “Rules for the issue, public offering and circulation of investment securities of international organizations of which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a member” is currently being prepared.
"Our main goal this year will be to ensure financial stability in the country and implement initiatives that support the sustainable development of the financial sector. Thus, areas such as the development of banking, insurance and capital markets, strengthening the regulatory and institutional framework, increasing the financial literacy of citizens, and expanding international cooperation will be among the main priorities," he said.
Touching upon international cooperation on capital markets, the department director emphasized that the CBA plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in order to obtain privileged member status in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
