Uzbekistan is glad to see the active development and prosperity of the ancestral Azerbaijani territories after their liberation from occupation, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in Khankendi, EDnews reports.
"It is gratifying that the meeting of heads of state is taking place in the reviving Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. I would like to express my gratitude for the hospitable reception. This meeting, given the current geopolitical situation, is taking place in a timely manner," Mirziyoyev said.
The President of Uzbekistan also welcomed the participation of Afghanistan in the summit after a long break. According to him, Afghanistan has great logistical potential.
