Employees of the Main Police Department of the city of Ganja and its subordinate structures carried out several effective measures to identify persons involved in drug trafficking in the city, Ednews reports.

Thus, as a result of operational search activities, persons suspected of selling and distributing narcotic drugs delivered in various ways to the territory of the country, including the city of Ganja, were detained. As a result of operational search activities carried out by employees of the Anti-Drug Department of the Main Police Department based on information received, a resident of the Samukh district, Elshan Khalilov, was detained, intending to ensure the delivery of a narcotic drug illegally imported from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the country.

When examining the suspect, heroin weighing 14 kg 926 grams worth about 500,000 manats was found and seized in his bag.

As a result of operational search activities carried out by employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate, a large number of narcotic drugs were seized from illegal circulation. Thus, 18 kg 400 grams of dried marijuana were found in the bag of city resident Yashar Abbasov, who was detained by police officers. During interrogation, the suspect admitted that the drugs belonged to him.

In addition, as a result of operational search activities carried out during the week by employees of the Main Police Department of the city of Ganja and its subordinate structures, about 20 persons suspected of illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of narcotic drugs were detained. During the search, various drugs were found and seized on each detainee.

Operations by employees of the Main Police Department of the city of Ganja continue to identify other members of the drug network, as well as to detain persons involved in drug trafficking in the city of Ganja.
