Russian Armed Forces carried out a drone strike on a SOCAR gas station in Ukraine's Mykolaiv Oblast on the evening of July 5, EDnews reports via AZERTAC.
The attack triggered an explosion at the station. SOCAR Energy Ukraine confirmed that three Shahed drones targeted the facility located in Nechayane village, Odeska Street 2A. The administrative building sustained damage.
The company noted that strict adherence to safety protocols during the air raid alert and the presence of a shelter prevented more severe consequences. All employees were in the shelter at the time, and no injuries were reported.
In recent days, Russian forces have launched mass airstrikes on fuel stations across Ukraine. Last summer, explosions in Berezina village, Zhytomyr region, severely damaged two SOCAR stations. On August 8, Russian drones also struck SOCAR's oil depot in Odesa region, causing a fire and leaving four people seriously injured.
