Azerbaijan is taking part in the prestigious Beijing International Book Fair, with its national presence jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Azerbaijani Embassy in China. This year’s event, hosted by the China National Publications Import and Export Group, features over 1,700 participants from 80 countries, including more than 200 international libraries and research institutions. Malaysia has been named the honorary guest country of the exhibition.
Azerbaijan's participation is marked by a strong delegation that includes representatives of major publishing houses, literary institutions, and well-known Azerbaijani writers. The country’s involvement reflects a growing emphasis on international cultural diplomacy and literary exchange.
At the heart of Azerbaijan's presence is a vibrant national stand, which features 332 copies of 175 books highlighting the nation's rich cultural, historical, and literary traditions. Over the course of five days, the stand will host a series of presentations, panel discussions, and networking events centered around Azerbaijani book art, literature, and publishing.
Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to explore works of classical and contemporary Azerbaijani authors, as well as books translated into multiple languages that provide insight into the country’s national identity, artistic achievements, and literary evolution.
In addition to showcasing Azerbaijan’s literary output, the exhibition also serves as a platform to strengthen cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and China. A number of professional events are planned, including discussions on literary translation, publishing collaborations, and strategies for introducing Azerbaijani literature to a wider global audience.
Azerbaijan’s participation in the Beijing International Book Fair underscores its commitment to promoting its cultural legacy on the world stage and building bridges through literature and education.
