Emirates, one of the world's largest international airlines, has canceled multiple flights to Jordan, Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon scheduled for June 13 and 14, EDnews informs, citing TASS.
In an official statement, the airline cited “operational challenges and safety concerns” arising from the volatile security situation in the Middle East, particularly due to heightened tensions between Iran and Israel. The move comes as several regional airspaces have been closed or restricted in recent days, prompting airlines to reassess flight routes and passenger safety.
“The safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and working with the relevant authorities to ensure the highest safety standards are upheld,” Emirates said in its statement.
Affected passengers have been notified directly and offered rebooking options, full refunds, or alternative travel arrangements. The airline also advised travelers to check the status of their flights on the Emirates website or contact customer service before heading to the airport.
Emirates' decision follows similar moves by other international carriers in response to growing instability in the region. Aviation experts warn that continued airspace disruptions could have a ripple effect on global travel routes, especially those passing through key Middle Eastern air corridors.
This development underscores the broader impact of geopolitical conflict on international aviation and passenger mobility, as airlines prioritize security amid uncertainty.
