A conference titled "The Role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Media Development" was held today at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, organized by the Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan, EDnews reports.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, the Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Ahmad Ismayilov, noted that the media principles established by National Leader Heydar Aliyev are still reflected in the state's information policy and media activities today, maintaining their relevance.
The panel session themed "Media principles established by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev" featured Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan; Mikhail Gusman, a member of the Azerbaijan Writers Union and Honored Journalist of Russia; Arif Rahimzada, member of the YAP Board and Chairman of the Veterans Council; Anar Isgandarov, YAP Board member; Honored Journalist Vugar Rahimzada, and Azerbajani MPs.
The speakers discussed the reforms implemented by Heydar Aliyev in the media field and the significant steps taken in the formation of free and professional media, emphasizing that these principles continue to serve as the main direction in the state's media policy today.
At the end of the event, a roundtable discussion was held on "Heydar Aliyev's education policy: the role of education in increasing journalistic professionalism."
The discussion, moderated by Vafa Isgandarova, head of the Nakhchivan regional office of the Media Development Agency, was attended by academic representatives working in the field of journalism and communication.
It was brought to attention that within the framework of the Great Leader's education strategy, important reforms were carried out to increase professional personnel potential in the field of journalism, develop and improve this specialty in higher education institutions, as well as ensure the development of journalism based on scientific foundations, thereby improving media quality.
