Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has spoken by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to the Qatari government.
During the call, they “reviewed efforts at mediation” between the US and Iran, “along with the latest developments in Lebanon”, the statement said.
Sheikh Mohammed also affirmed Qatar’s “support for all endeavours aimed at containing escalation and reaching a comprehensive agreement that contributes to consolidating security and stability, and achieves lasting peace in the region”.
