According to the 2025 resettlement plan, construction and restoration are being carried out in 16 settlements of the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, said at the 9th meeting of heads of diplomatic service bodies held in Khankendi, EDnews reports.
According to him, after the completion of restoration work related to the resettlement of the population to eight villages of the Khojaly district (Ballija, Khanyurdu, Tazabina, Dashbulaq, Badara, Seyidbayli, Khanabad and Shushakand) and eight villages of the Aghdara district (Hasanriz, Vangli, Kolatag, Childiran, Heyvali, Damirli, Chapar and Ashaghi Oratag), the process of resettling former IDPs to the villages of both districts will be carried out in stages:
"Approximately 6,000 internally displaced persons will be relocated to their native ancestral lands based on voluntary principles. Currently, the preparation of a relocation plan for these and other settlements for the coming years and other relevant work is being carried out."
Gahramanov also recalled that the return of some former internally displaced persons to Khojaly city and Ballica village, and to Sugovushan, Hasanriz, and Talish villages of Aghdara district has already been ensured.
