CARACAS — Venezuela's Ministry of Communication and Information says at least 188 rescue workers from El Salvador have arrived to support emergency operations following the country's devastating earthquakes.
The deployment is part of a wider regional humanitarian response, with several Latin American nations sending personnel, equipment and relief supplies to assist Venezuelan authorities in search-and-rescue efforts.
Earlier, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced that three aircraft carrying rescue personnel, specialized equipment and 50 tonnes of humanitarian aid had been dispatched to Venezuela.
The international assistance comes as rescue operations continue after the powerful earthquakes, which have caused widespread destruction and left at least 188 people dead, with the toll expected to rise as crews search collapsed buildings.
