"Azerbaijan's participation in this event is helpful for French Muslims."
These words were said by Jean-Michel Brun, chief executive officer of French "LaGazette", to Ednews while assessing Azerbaijan's fight against Islamophobia.
In France, and Europe in general, there is a significant problem with Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims. I believe events like this International Conference are important in fighting against discrimination. In France, unfortunately, it has become one of the most racist and Islamophobic countries in the world. Muslims in France face daily harassment, and the government has closed schools and associations and even banned certain types of clothing for girls and boys in schools. It's very difficult to be a Muslim in France, and with a population of 10 million Muslims in France, Muslims must fight against Islamophobia. Azerbaijan's participation in this event is helpful for French Muslims, as they now have a world leader supporting them. However, conferences are not enough; we need action, and help from organizations like Azerbaijan to fight against Islamophobia.
The French expert believes that such measures should be held not only at the level of the government, but also at the level of international organizations.
Actions should take place at a governmental level, and they should be heard in international organizations like the United Nations. Organizations like Azerbaijan can help by publishing books, providing support, and raising awareness about Islamophobia. French Muslims are fighting alone, and they are weak compared to the powerful government.
