Baku Metro will operate in an enhanced mode during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, EDnews report.
Changes to the train schedule will be made to ensure safe and uninterrupted passenger flow during the event.
On May 17, trains will operate according to the Saturday schedule. Trains on the 28 May - Ahmadli route and in the opposite direction will run every 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
On the remaining days of WUF13, the metro will operate at its busiest weekday schedule. Trains on the 28 May - Ahmadli route will run every 1 minute and 45 seconds.
The schedule on the Purple Line, as well as on the parallel sections between Ahmadli and Hazi Aslanov and Jafar Jabbarli - Khatai, will remain unchanged.
To quickly manage passenger density, reserve trains will be kept on standby.
During WUF13, as many as 56 volunteers will be stationed at nine Baku metro stations, providing support to passengers and event participants.
WUF13 will be held in Baku from May 17-22. The forum is being held in close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and aims to share international experience in sustainable urban development, smart cities, and innovative urban solutions.
