A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation  with representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.At the meeting, the Chairman of the Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, emphasized the wide opportunities created by the favorable environment in our country for the effective activity of trade unions and the effective protection of labor rights, as well as the attention and care of our state to this area.

EDnews noted that comprehensive measures are being implemented to fully ensure healthy and safe working conditions, protect the labor rights of union members, and the activities of sanatorium-resort institutions are being continuously improved in order to effectively organize treatment and recreation.

The event provided information on the reforms and projects carried out in the trade union system, the activities of the "Kurort" Tourism Information Center, as well as the newly established Labor Protection and Legal Assistance Center, and it was brought to attention that work is underway on a draft law on amendments to the legislation on trade unions.

The meeting highlighted the importance of further strengthening cooperation with the Confederation of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in the field of labor rights protection, labor protection, employment, and improving the welfare of workers. It was noted that social partnership is improving year by year, and the General Collective Agreement reflects provisions in line with modern challenges and requirements, which creates additional opportunities for more effective protection of labor rights.

A video material on the activities of the Confederation of Labor and Social Protection of the Population was watched at the event, and a presentation was made on the proposed additions and amendments to the legislation on trade unions.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev highly appreciated the reforms and innovations implemented by the Confederation, and emphasized the role of trade unions in regulating labor relations and developing civil society in our country. Noting that the number of labor contracts has increased as a result of increasing employment opportunities and systematic measures taken regarding the labor market, the minister noted that the social protection of vulnerable population groups is always in focus.

During the meeting, the importance of social dialogue, the development of civil partnership, and compliance with the obligations established by the General Collective Agreement was highlighted.Finally, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs were introduced to the activities of the "Kurort" Tourism Information.
