On April 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Song Hailiang, Chairman of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited  in Beijing.

EDnews noted that, during the meeting, it was emphasized that China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited is currently implementing several projects in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the company is the contractor of a 1 gigawatt wind energy mega project in the Caspian Sea.

China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited has invested in solar energy and other projects in the Fuzuli regionSong Hailiang made proposals on cooperation with Azerbaijan on energy corridors by the company he heads.The head of our state touched upon the priority and strategic nature of cooperation with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on a joint long-term energy planning project. It should be noted that a document on this was signed as part of the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to China.Issues related to the future establishment of an Energy Research Center in Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting.

Considering the company's extensive experience in water management, an exchange of views was held on cooperation in this area.It should be noted that the company, whose scope of activities includes renewable energy projects, hydrogen energy, energy storage and the construction of large power grids, has 256 branches in 147 countries. The company, which currently has 416 projects underway, controls 50% of China's renewable energy market.
