A Hyundai Porter cargo truck ran into the crowd of school students in the village of Jerge-Tal, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region, Ednews reports citing AKIpress.

Children were reciting the epic of Manas during the competition of the Manas National Theater "Uraanym Manas" which is held nationwide.

The truck began moving suddenly. According to preliminary information, around 4,000 students from 30 schools of Suzak district gathered at the event. 29 were injured, 28 children aged between 9 and 16 years among them. 7 were taken to the intensive care unit of Jalal-Abad regional hospital. Three children are in critical condition.

Three children were brought to Suzak Hospital, 8 children were transported to the general medical practice center in the village of Oktiabrskoye. They are in serious condition. 11 children received medical assistance at the scene and were discharged for outpatient treatment.

Among 18 hospitalized, 17 are school students and 1 is a teacher.

The truck belonged to a resident of Jerge-Tal village. The investigation was launched by police.
