In an interview with Axios, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about the operation that killed Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Trump said that Soleimani was planning attacks against five U.S. military bases in the region.
“Do you know what Soleimani was going to do? He wanted to blow up five of our military bases. I neutralized him a week before that attack,” the U.S. president said.
