As part of his official visit to the Turkish city of Erzincan, Zamin Aliyev, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars, paid a visit to Binali Yıldırım University. The purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the field of education between Azerbaijan and Türkiye two nations united by deep-rooted historical, cultural, and brotherly ties.
EDnews report that Consul General Aliyev held a meeting with the university’s rector, Professor Akın Levent. The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in academic fields, with particular attention given to the implementation of joint educational projects. Both sides expressed interest in initiating student and academic staff exchange programs, which would serve to further deepen mutual understanding and academic integration between the two countries.
Professor Levent emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Azerbaijani institutions of higher education. He affirmed their readiness to engage in meaningful partnerships that contribute to the academic and cultural development of both nations.
The visit also coincided with the 6th Turkic World Ashugs Festival, which was held at Binali Yıldırım University from May 13 to 16. The festival celebrated the rich oral and musical traditions of the Turkic world, serving as a cultural bridge among Turkic-speaking nations and further highlighting the importance of people-to-people connections alongside institutional cooperation.
