A scientific-practical conference entitled "Heydar Aliyev's Legacy: The Constitution of Azerbaijan and the Restoration of Our Sovereignty" is being held in the city of Khankendi, jointly organized by the Presidential Library and Karabakh University.

According to EDnews an online scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 99th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held entitled "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is the Founder of Independent Azerbaijan."

First, the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.Opening the conference, the rector of the university professor Elkhan Huseynov, greeted the participants and spoke about the honorable  life of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his rich activities, rescue mission, as well as the unparalleled services rendered by the Azerbaijani people in difficult times.

He noted that the strength, intelligence, courage, political will and wisdom of individuals have an irreplaceable role in the life of the nation. Among these personalities the  founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, National Leader Heydar Aliyev has a special place.

The rector said  that the basic principles of Azerbaijan's development were laid by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and stressed that Azerbaijan is recognized and supported in the world as a developed, secure and reliable partner state.
