Xiaomi Inc. Chief Executive Officer Lei Jun officially presented the company's technology which will power its first-ever electric vehicle (EV) during the launch event in Beijing.
The founder of the consumer electronics company underscored during the event that today's launch of the electronic sedan is set to position Xiaomi among the leading global car manufacturers over the next two decades. The vehicle is equipped with the Xiaomi HyperOS operating system, facilitating a seamless connection between the vehicle, smartphones, and smart home accessories under the concept of "Human x Car x Home." The company collaborated with China's EV battery giant CATL to provide the car with a 150-kilowatt-hour (kWh) capacity, enabling a range of over 1200 kilometers based on the China light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC).
The sedan incorporates a built-in Xiaomi HyperEngine V8s, which will feature an impressive maximum speed of 27,200 revolutions per minute (rpm) and "will be on the road by 2025."
